Yawanna McDonald


Yawanna’s practice focuses on litigating commercial matters, shareholder disputes (including claims related to fiduciary duties of corporate officers and directors), and other business disputes. Yawanna also represents clients in probate, trust, and other fiduciary disputes and litigation. In her trust and estate litigation practice, Yawanna’s clients include beneficiaries, personal representatives, trustees, and other fiduciaries in contested guardianships and conservatorships, and in postmortem challenges to the validity of wills, trusts, deeds, beneficiary designations, and lifetime transfers.  Yawanna is passionate about navigating complex matters to help clients achieve a successful resolution. Throughout her career, Yawanna has remained active in her community by volunteering her time to various organizations, including the YWCA.

Most recently, Yawanna has:

  • Won a jury verdict in favor of a property-owner against municipality in a condemnation/eminent domain action.

  • Recovered funds for an estate involved in a FINRA proceeding.

  • Litigated and recovered trust assets for a beneficiary.

  • Won a complete summary judgment for a claim of breach of fiduciary duty for trustee against a beneficiary.

  • Prosecuted and defended claims arising from wills and testamentary trusts, including undue influence and lack of capacity.

  • Successfully represented businesses and individuals in contract and business disputes.

  • Successfully represented personal representatives and executors in estate administration and probate matters.

  • Won a complete summary judgment for a defendant in breach of privacy claim.

  • Successfully represented grandparents seeking grandparent visitation rights.
